Originally from Canada, Dallas resident Jane Cornish Smith’s nomadic
childhood, along with her artist mother, fostered an appreciation for varied
artistic expression from a young age.
A versatile artist, Jane produces multi media paintings-- oil, gouache,
mixed media, encaustic and collage-- with equally diverse subject matter.
She received B.F.A. and M.L.A. degrees from Southern Methodist University
with coursework in studio art, art history and writing. She recently
completed an artist residency in Umbria, Italy.
An award-winning artist, Jane’s work has been shown in various solo and
group exhibits, as well as numerous regional, state, and national juried
shows. Her creations hang in private collections across the world.
